About CTG Brasil’s Challenge for Innovations in Sustainable Tourism

.

Tourism in Brazil was one of the most affected sectors by the Covid-19 pandemic and the policy of social isolation, with losses estimated to be R$ 62 billion for 2020. Under this scenario, the moment seems ideal for us to think about and encourage new ways of doing tourism.

.

CTG Brasil looks for innovative initiatives that focus on at least two of the four fundamental areas of sustainable tourism: Social, Cultural, Environmental and Economic. We started the project “Tracking Transformation: Challenging Innovations in Sustainable Tourism” with its Research & Development (R&D) resources regulated by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL, in Portuguese), in partnership with global non-profit organization, Ashoka Brasil. The initiative will award three national projects focused on new tourism models that promote development and strengthen the communities where we operate and that generate social transformation.

Mapping and Innovation

.

Another relevant moment of the event on the December 4th was the presentation of the Mapping of Social Innovation Trends for Sustainable Tourism. The publication systematizes the knowledge of specialists and social entrepreneurs in the field of tourism. One of the publication's goal is to favor the replicability and scalability of solutions for the entire Brazilian territory.
